Drawing inspiration from Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe Diptych and Banksy’s style mashed together.
I wanted it to look like a series of old black and white photos, which slightly fade out as you move across the canvas, giving it an old world eerie feeling.
By repeating one image again and again there is no focal point, so it forces the viewers eyes to wonder and dart across the canvas.
It has been created with stencils, using a monochrome palette with layers of metallic paint, spray paint and ink.
Medium: Acrylic, metallic and spray paint and ink on cotton stretched canvas, it has blackened edges and has been finished with satin varnish, signed on the front ‘Debstar’ my street name :) and is ready to hang.
